Final Class Meeting
Dear class,
I just wanted to make sure that we're all on the same page for meeting on Tuesday Dec. 11th from 1-2:15 p.m. in UC323 (Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel). Please have your video uploaded to YouTube, your storyboards, your script, your log, and a rationale (how does your project "fit" one of the chosen movements?) before we meet that day.
Also, feel free to bring in treats. There isn't a final exam.
Best,
Dr. M

Un Chien Andalou
Dear class,
Just so you don't think I'm completely out of my mind showing you UN CHIEN ANDALOU,
here are two pieces you might enjoy: The Pixies-DEBASER (One of the greatest rock songs ever written about the film):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P3lhrwio-M
and Roger Ebert's GREAT MOVIES essay on the movie:
http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20000416/REVIEWS08/401010369/1023
Key Quote: "Although the surrealists didn't consider themselves terrorists," Bunuel wrote in his autobiography, "they were constantly fighting a society they despised. Their principal weapon wasn't guns, of course; it was scandal."
Thanks for trying on the Surrealists with me today. I know they aren't for everybody...but they never wanted to be.
